Getting there
Road if you want to leave when you are done. Boat if the beach is one stop on an island day. Weekends are a crowd. Weekday mornings are the version worth the trip.
| Option | Notes |
|---|---|
| Taxi or private driver | Across the Barú bridge; agree the fare for the round trip |
| Shared shuttle or tour | Day trips with transport and lunch |
| Boat tour | Often a stop on Rosario Islands trips |
What to expect
The water is calm and clear, and the sand is white. Day-trippers arrive from mid-morning. Quieter sand is a walk away from where the boats dump everyone. Agree every chair, meal and massage price before you nod.
Vendors and prices
Vendors offer chairs, shade, food, massages and drinks. Always agree the price before you accept anything, and don’t accept “free” samples or services.
Staying overnight
Once day visitors leave, Playa Blanca is calm. Simple cabañas and hostels are on the beach; check reviews.
